Alpha Launch Week


  • Movement script updates to try and improve game feel. The changing of movement values to try and improve  the difficulty of levels but still keep the feeling of running fast.
  • The implementation of a dialogue system. A trigger that once the player enters the dialogue starts. Dialogue is unique to each NPC and has sound effects that are inspired by animal crossing dialogue.
  • The implementation of all 4 of our core movement abilities. A grapple hook that is able to hook onto and swing from specific grapple points. A rocket jump that launches a bomb out that can launch the player I a direction in relation to the bomb fired. The distance between the player the bomb will determine the speed at which the player is launch. A teleport throwable pear that the player throws out and once it hits the floor the player teleports to that position. With the final ability being a air dash that launches the player a short distance in the direction they are looking at.
  • Wall running has been implemented being able to run across and up specifically tagged walls.
  • Added a pause menu that let's you resume the game, resets the level, return to the hub world and returning to the main menu.
  • Sound effects to improve emersion has been added.
  • The implementation of 8 of our 13 planned levels have been added. All three of our grapple hook and rocket jump levels have been created. One of your dash and teleport levels have been added. This is so we can see how all the different levels play in relation to the overall game experience.
  • A tutorial going over the basic movement and all the movement abilities in the game.
  • A white box of the boss battle created with most of the mechanic implemented and functional.
  • Assets created and implemented for the new movement abilities and a improvement to existing 3D platform asset.
